Leader of the Den

I'm now officially trained as a Cub Scout Webelos leader!! I had my full day of Den Leader Outdoors training yesterday. It was COLD!! Considering that we've had 90% humidity on top of 75-80 degree days up until Thursday, then a cool front blew in and temps dropped into the upper 60s to low 70s, it was really chilly! The wind blew a lot, which didn't help as we were under a pavilion most of the day. It was warm in the direct sun, but we weren't out there much--only for the campfire/cooking section of our training.

We made foil packets for lunch. It really doesn't take that long to do. You only need a square of foil, plus your ingredients (which hopefully have been pre-chopped for you!). Layer your ingredients in whatever way you want. They offered us potatoes, hamburgers, onions, green beans and carrots, plus a "cream of" soup to use. I put potato slices on the bottom, my burger on top of that, then onion, green beans, carrots and finally, the soup. I should add that I also used garlic salt and paprika to flavor it. You wrap your packet up to make a square, then put it on HOT coals. It needs to be turned at least once, but that's it. Very nice meal. Hot and quite tasty!

We talked about campfires yesterday as well. There was much discussion about fire rings. You don't want to create a fire ring...use an existing one as it's less invasive and easier on the environment. They did mention not to pull dead branches off trees. For the kindling, gather only small pieces of twigs and whatnot. You'll probably have a firestarter with you, so you'll use that to start your fires.
In a lot of ways, it's a scary thought that you'll have 9 and 10 year olds around fires, but that's the first step toward being Boy Scouts. They have to know how to build a fire *safely* and how to tend to said fire as Boy Scouts. That's a lot of what I was learning yesterday.
oh
We talked about conservation a little, plus Leave NO Trace. I seriously would like to take my boys up to visit a friend who is a Forester. I believe she could train them much better than anyone else. It's also a pity I can't bring her down here for a Den Meeting. That would be soooo beneficial!! Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to do that yet...and taking 7 boys across state lines and into another country requires a thousand pieces of paper in the form of permits that I don't want to even THINK about!

I'm now going to jump into planning my next Den Meeting. I'll have to push it back a week since I'm going to another meeting this coming Wednesday. Ah, the fun of planning. They emphasized making plans and sticking with them, so I'll have to work on that. I've not been a planner. Now I have to start. Yikes.

Busy schedule

This should be a busy year for us. I'm now volunteering to chaperone at the football games, plus I have Cub Scouts. The Cub Scouts is really only 2 times a month--the Den Meeting and the bigger PACK meeting. I haven't figured out where to fit in my martial arts either.

I am sure that I'm a bit on the overwhelmed side at the amount of things the boys have to do to earn the various badges and whatnot they have to work on. I definitely have to plan more than I did last year. I hope the boys will assume enough responsibility to do their own things without me standing over them. We also have to go camping many times this year. That's a chore for the husband. I'm doing band with our daughter, HE gets to go out in "the wild" with the boy.

With the classes Miss A is taking, too, we have many projects going at once. She had to make ratatouille for her French class to work on learning the culture aspect of things. Then there's a "questionable topic" she has to work on for English. She has the topic of the War in Iraq. NOT my idea of a fun research project, but I didn't like her other topics (thankfully one was already taken...*I* had issues with it!). There's Biology, Health, Geography...you name it. This girl has a full plate. I'm exhausted thinking about it and it's not MY schedule (although I'm doing my bit to help her, so that does take a little time in and of itself.)

Mr. A just has the normal fourth grade things to work on--the reading, writing, etc. I've currently got him sitting down, reading his Webelos book to familiarize himself with the requirements for Citizen. Once he finishes that, he's going out with the hubby to go watch football at a local restaurant with his friends.

Busy, busy

I am here but have been sidelined by the goings on at the house. Number one daughter started Band on Monday. Every day has been a lot of fun. I had a parents' meeting on Tuesday at 7:00...I didn't leave the school until 8:30. There was just a LOT of information to be gleaned from the director of the bands. I'm thinking this year is going to be just jam packed, what with Band and Cub Scouts. Somewhere in that time frame, I am going to HAVE to take time for me and do my martial arts. I prefer to have my time to train. I'm going to make Dan Training on Saturday before we go to Escadrille Registration. I WILL NOT miss that! I have already missed two classes this week. I'm supposed to take Ms. A to the cafeteria on Tuesday at 7:00. Can I sneak in a class on Tuesday? I'm not sure. I have to figure that out. My class is 7:45-9:00. I want to hang out with MY friends too!!
(yes, that's a whine there!)

I haven't even gotten a schedule for Cub Scouts yet, but I'm going to have to get my assistant Den Leader to attend some of the Pack meetings so that I don't have to keep missing karate. I need the stability and the structure of the karate. It's become so much a part of who I am that I feel very...OFF if I don't get to go to class. I'm going to class tonight after Cub Scouts. I won't be in uniform, but I will be there! Might learn SOMETHING! It definitely does wonders for my mental state!

I have an idea for an essay that I've been fumbling with. I need to find someone who would not mind proofing it for me. I have a whole bunch of things in my head but need to put it to some format. I think the subject is going to be an interesting one. I have had it in my mind for a while, so I think it's going to happen soon. Just as soon as I find the time...

Sunday reflections

Last night was the End of Year banquet for Cub Scouts. I am proud to say that my entire Den was able to be promoted to the next level, to Webelos. That's a great thing! I'm really proud of the boys. They all worked hard to achieve their ranks.
We had to hand out their Bears first for the ones who didn't have them along with their other achievements. I gave my assistant Den Leader the opportunity to hand out the awards. I figured he could do that. I'll have to work on my public speaking...but that's something that can be done at almost any time.

While I was out with the young man last night, hubby got to chaperone our daughter and a friend. They played video games until Aidan and I got home. We finally chased them off to bed at 11:30, but when I got up this morning at 6:30, they were up in Amanda's room, giggling and laughing. We found out just a little bit ago that they didn't sleep all night. UGH. I can't deal with a lack of sleep. I don't know how they did it. I guess they're more resilient than I am, but still...it's crazy in my eyes.

Not a lot is planned for today. I need to work on my one steps. I have 1-4 memorized. I want to advance to the next four and get them nailed, then I can work on the next four. I'm going to get them done in increments. I like the idea of learning more. It feels good to learn. I may drag the hubby outside and practice on him.

Whirlwind

It has been a really busy week! I traded hours with someone at work so that I wouldn't have to work until 6:30 pm on Monday. Tuesday, I took Amanda to her "First Steps in Band" practice. She had a blast. I was impressed by it and have to admit to suffering from "Helium Hand". I volunteered to help with the March-A-Thon the band holds every August before school starts, to raise money for the band. I'm going to walk with the kids about 3-4 miles. We'll be walking about a mile to get from one elementary school to another. The kids play their instruments during this March-a-thon. I think I'm more excited about it than Amanda is.

She did get chosen by a Drum Major to try out for his squad. Basically, what it means is that a Drum Major earns leadership points or something for teaching a Freshman to march. We're going to the school on Sunday for her to work with this boy. I"m going to be there, walking the track.

We also have Cub Scouts getting ready to end for the school year. I'm going to be the Den leader next year too, as Aidan's in Webelos (that will be his next rank). We have a camp coming up next month that I need to get ready for. After that it'll be Amanda's Band Camp in August. One of us will have to drop her off at the school practice field at 7:30 and pick her up (unless she gets a ride home from someone) at 3:30. It's going to make for a very long day for her. I kind of hope her friend, Sammi brings her home. It'll make things easier on us.
The first week of August is the Freshman camp, then there's the full band for the next three weeks. Their first performance will be the last Friday in August, in Longview, TX, which is 3 hours East of Allen. THAT ought to be fun!!

I spent the greater part of today in major stress. I'm not going to go into details, but I've decided that I'm letting it all go away. I'm not holding on to it.
Tomorrow is a new day.

I have letters to write that I have started and put off. The people I owe the letters to are extremely patient with me. I think it's time i sat down and scribbled out a note or three while I'm running my virus check tomorrow.
That's another day..

The return of me....

I've been working on my mental issues this week and this weekend. I may finally be feeling less moody and less down on myself. I know I haven't been in the right place in my head, but I've been working on that. I'm trying to tell myself nice things daily. I tried it a few months ago and gave it up, but I'm starting over. I want to give myself a fighting chance to be the person I know I want to be. I want to be happier and healthier.

I'm looking forward to this week. I have to work, of course, because I haven't won the darned lottery (YET), but...I'm making the best out of THAT situation. I can't control the crap that goes on--the people who appear to be doing other things than answering the phones, but I'm not going to worry about that too much. I'm not in charge. Someone else is. Until they give me the go ahead to worry about the phones, I'm only going to worry about me, not about others.

We're going camping with the family next weekend and that's going to be a great thing. I'm really, really looking forward to it. Getting out and about, enjoying being disconnected from cell phones, mp3 players, etc. I'm looking forward to that. I promised the boys that if I could get their Den leaders to agree to it, we'll all go out in the woods, close our eyes and listen to the sounds of the birds we'll hear out there. I also volunteered to be the MC on Saturday night at the campfire, when the boys are doing skits (this is a Cub Scout Family campout). I think I can handle it. Anyone who knows me, knows I have a big mouth. LOL! I'm going to have fun with it.

Tuesday and Thursday is karate. I wasn't in class last week due to Cubs and not feeling 100%, so this is going to be a good thing. I'm seeing my doctor on Wednesday and will have a good report from him, I hope. As of this past Friday, he said he was fairly satisfied with my progress. I'm happy to hear that. It means that I'm doing better at controlling things like sitting with my foot tucked up under my rear, etc. I'm consciously thinking about that and correcting it if I happen to find myself doing it. He also told me that I need to build up my upper and lower body strength as well as my core strength. I found a series of exercises in Self Magazine that are great for 'tush tighteners' and they also work the arms and legs as well. I just have to remember to do them on non-consecutive days. I want these exercises to work, so I have to work on them three days a week. Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings, then Tuesday and Thursday are karate. This will work out. I'm going to ask another friend who teaches mixed martial arts classes if I can come in and work with him a couple of times to get some serious cardio work in. I think I finally got serious. I really do.

I was able to find a couple of things I wanted to find this week...I found my language CD so I can review my Korean for class. I also found my other "foot" hidden in my closet tonight, so I have my complete sparring gear again. YAY! Now all I need to do is to get a mouth guard and I think we have one hiding around here somewhere. I'm almost prepared. My next step is to get myself physically fit and I'll feel better. I've decided that I need to get off my (bleep!) and start working on myself. I will feel better and will have a lot more self confidence.

Scouting for Food Saturday

Today was Scouting for Food with the Cub Scouts.  Scouting for Food is a food drive, where the boys go out with their dens and collect cans of food for the local food banks.  Today our Den went out together and quickly got separated.  We had three adults with three boys and two adults with two other boys.  Our boys went out and worked together to collect cans of food from people in the neighborhood.  It was a success.  Our boys collected 1023 cans of food for this effort.  Last year we collected 77 more cans, but I'm not complaining about this effort.

I was the organizer of this effort, namely because I was at Round Table and collected the bags for the Pack.  That made me the organizer by default.  (Well, that and the fact that the guy who did it last year left our group!)
I'm proud of the way the boys worked together.  It was a good effort and I'm proud of them.

Pinewood Derby procrastination

If you're the parent of a young boy in Cub Scouts, you'll understand when I mention two words that have been on our minds lately...Pinewood Derby.
We have the pinewood blocks that are the cars...or are supposed to be the cars. Saturday is Pinewood. Have we done our car yet? ha! No. My husband picked up a Dremel tool yesterday, but then they didn't do anything with it. They sat on the couch and watched television, played video games and generally goofed off. This is a last minute thing, or so it would seem.
Our assistant Den leader is being kind enough to take our Derby car over to his brother's house to use a band saw to do the rough shape of the car. He said he'll take the axles and polish those for us, plus he'll sand the burrs off the wheels (the burrs are left from the molding when they created them). That pretty much gives us the base sanding and painting/stickering to do with the car. I really appreciate his offer because it means that I don't have to scramble around at the last minute every night this week, ranting and raving that the car isn't done. He has a base design, but he's not sure how it'll be. I'm not either. We sketched out the idea on a piece of paper, but translating that to a block of wood? Yeah we'll see how that works!!

I didn't get my walk in today--so my friend now owes me a cup of coffee. It's a bit chilly outside so I guess that's okay. Next week, we'll have to go either in the afternoon on Saturday or on Sunday morning as Pinewood is Saturday.
I still need to find the charger for my camera's battery so I can take lots of pictures of Pinewood.

December's busy!!

Man, what a month this is turning out to be! We had our Cub Scout Committee meeting tonight. Wednesday is the Den Meeting, plus I have my company's Christmas dinner that night. I absolutely must be at the den meeting!! I'm planning a few things that my assistant doesn't know about. I'm organizing a game that will help the boys earn an advancement. They also are getting their recognition badges/beads. We're baking cookies and talking about kitchen safety and playing a game. It'll be crazy!

Then, next week is tied up with Pack meeting on Tuesday, my daughter has a concert that night, my department is having a dinner on Thursday (darn it, there's my Tuesday/Thursday commitment already knocked flat!!). If I hadn't already told my instructors that I'd not be in on Tuesday, they'd think I had just up and forgotten them!!

The week after is, of course, Christmas week. Wow. It's hard to believe that we're almost at mid-month. I hadn't realized how busy my life was until I looked at a calendar. I am beginning to wonder if I'm crazy? I must be.

On the karate front, I haven't even set my workout plan into action yet. I am trying to commit myself to practicing at least 1-2 forms a day so that I'm up to speed on everything.
I want to practice Sip Soo again (that's one of my favorite forms). I know it's a high level form that I shouldn't know just yet, but...I like it just the same. I need to practice Bassai and Nahainchi Cho Dan as well. Actually, if I'm smart, I'll practice ALL of my forms! That way I can keep up with my training and won't be as lost as I could be when I return to class in January.

Cub Scouts and Karate

Cub Scouts and Karate...what a combination!!
Tonight was the Pack meeting. I attended that (kind of had to since I'm the Den leader!!). I decided that no matter what, I needed to go to class as well, if for nothing else, note taking. I met my friend, DB there and we observed class.
Unfortunately, the lights went out right around 9:00, so everyone was dismissed and headed on out. I introduced Master M to my friend and then asked her about a Ho Sin Sul move that I'd watched. She was kind enough to demonstrate, so I have a better idea of how it's supposed to work.

After class, DB and I stood outside in the parking lot and talked. We haven't had the opportunity to talk like that for a long time. It's something I missed. We talked about Bassai and I explained to him the opening (MG calls it a salutation) of the form, then actually ran through it. We compared what I've started to learn and what he had taught me and I showed him the refinements I'm working on putting into place. We also talked about Naihanchi Cho Dan and I told him that I felt like I have much work to do to get to that place in my mind that I have been living in. That's the place that says I have to get to "x-level"...and won't accept less than that. I have to work on that idea. I'll lose myself if I'm not careful. I'm determined to perform at a high level. I just need to give myself the "It's okay to not be perfect." talk soon. VERY soon or I'll have my butt kicked by a person with an injured calf!!

I didn't get to talk to Ms. S or Ms. Mad, nor Mr. L tonight. That's okay. I know they were all busy. I did show up, so that says *something*. I didn't just say "Oh, I'm too tired after Cub Scouts." and park myself on the couch. I'll give myself an "A" for that!!

I am going to write up my notes, such as they were, and send them to DB. He wanted to look at them. Plus, it'll help me figure out what they were doing. Big THANK YOU to Master F for telling me what started out the class. Yay!!

Pictures

Here are a couple of pictures from Camp Wisdom...

Our first view of the Fort, on our arrival at Camp Wisdom. We were at check-in.

The Blacksmith

The Castle, stop #1 on the Haunted Hike.

The "Executioner" at the Castle.

Aidan and I at the "Pumpkin Chunkin". We're trying to launch our pumpkin, which wanted to hit the ground. We had a "roller".

Camping

We went to Camp Wisdom this weekend. It was really fun. Aidan and I had a blast. I think I enjoyed myself more than he did, but we both enjoyed ourselves.
Our favorite things were the Haunted Hike and the Pumpkin Chunkin'.

We went from breakfast to camp, then off to The Foundry (a blacksmith demonstration), then off to the Haunted Hike. We went to the Castle, then off to the Cave (no pictures were taken of the cave, sorry!), then on to the Pirate ships. The kids LOVED the Pirate ships. It was a bit like an organized water balloon fight. Lots of fun! There were a couple of casualties...two of our kids got hit by the balloon. The ships were manned by Boy Scouts who were volunteering at this camp. They inadvertantly hit a couple of the Cubs with the 'balls'. Neither boy was seriously injured...I think it stung quite a bit. I don't think they'd get back into the middle of a water battle again any time soon!

After the Pirate ships, we went back to the Mess Hall for lunch, then off to Pumpkin Decorating. That didn't last very long--about 45 minutes, tops. The boys were anxious to get out to the Pumpkin Chunkin', so we ran over there and had a blast shooting off our pumpkins. All the boys liked that!

Archery, BB shooting, then an hour before dinner. Then we went back, the kids changed and off to the Trick or Treat to the Campfire.
A bit tiring, as we parents had to carry our folding chairs to the campfire as well. The kids got to trick or treat, we carried the packs. LOL! At the campfire, they did skits, sang songs and talked to us. I was in the back of the crowd, so I couldn't hear much. I did hear the skit of "Falling Rock". It'll lose MUCH in translation, so I can't tell you about that. You had to be there to see and hear it.

Part of the fun of last night was that they did the trick or treat after dark, so we had glow sticks to use for light sources. That was pretty neat. I was glad of having a place to sit and glad that I didn't have to use my own chair, even though I hauled it to the campfire.

When we got to our campsite, someone there had started yet another fire (we had one Friday night too), so we joined that crowd for a few minutes. Someone gave Aidan another marshmallow, so he 'roasted' it and gave it to me. I got to have a warm marshmallow as a midnight snack. YAY!

This morning we packed up and were ready to go by 8:00. Breakfast was at 7:30 at the mess hall. Aidan and I got there late, just as they were shutting it down. We managed to eat, but barely. After that was the "Scout's Own" service, which was pretty neat. When that was over, we climbed into our car and drove off.

We spent most of the day yesterday, on our feet. There was a LOT of walking involved. Everything we did involved walking from point A to point B. By the end of the day, it felt like my feet were going to fall off. I took my "walking shoes", which are in dire need of replacement. I am tonight regretting that decision. I have blisters on both of my feet, which was unusual. I am not complaining, mind you. I did it because it got me a chance to go camping, something I haven't done in nearly 20 years. I want to do it again, but further away from the city, more out in the countryside.

A Poem

Last night, at the Scout "New Leader Essentials" training, we learned about being effective leaders and volunteers in the Scouting community. Over the course of the evening, we built a bridge to symbolize the fact that we are leaders and how we provide a foundation for future leaders.

This poem was read at the end of the meeting and if you think about it, it can be translated into a Martial Arts point of view as well.

THE BRIDGE BUILDER

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came at the evening cold and gray,
To a chasm, vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim-
That sullen stream had no fears for him;
But he turned, when he reached the other side,
And built a bridge to span the tide.

"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim near,
"You are wasting strength in building here.
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way.
You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide,
Why build you the bridge at the eventide?"

The builder lifted his old gray head.
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."

Friday

What a week this has been!
My daughter had an assignment to do for Sa Bu Nim that she not only did, she finished it by Wednesday. It was turned in yesterday. Unfortunately, she "didn't feel like going to class" which she needed. She won't be going to class on Saturday because she's going to be out with me at the Scouting for Food drive. We're doing that as part of Cub Scouts. Hopefully the weather is going to cooperate...it's expected to be rainy and very cold tomorrow.

I don't have a black belt prep class tomorrow which is good! I need the time off to keep resting my leg. It has been bugging me more than normal this week. I think it may have been aggravated by the kicks we did on Wednesday. We practiced our recoil from the kick. One of the instructors had us go up and down the big room doing front kicks, then round kicks, then side kicks and finally back kicks. The final drill was a combination of front, round, back kicks. The transition from front to round is not that hard, but if you don't put your foot down just right, you'll wind up falling on your face. We also did rolls. Rolls are NOT my strong point. I truly hate rolling and falling. Part of it is an excuse--I wear glasses and cannot see without them, so if I want to see what I'm doing, have to have my glasses on. I also don't want to accidentally roll on them and break them because I don't have a back up pair. I truly hate not being able to see. Another reason I don't like falling is a fear of pain. I don't want to be hurt. It sounds weird--I'm involved in a sport that involves throws and falls and I'm not excited about either one. Need to work on that.

(9:55 am)
We just got back from the doctor's office with the little guy. He has pneumonia and is doing MUCH better. This entire thing started on Tuesday evening when I picked him up from school. He was complaining of a headache. By 10:00 pm Tuesday night, he was running a fever of 101.7. It didn't go away, in fact, it actually got worse by Wednesday. His fever at its highest was 103.8. Tony and I traded out work hours on Wednesday so that one of us was at work and one was home with him. I worked the "first shift" for 5 hours, then he went to work until 6:30-7:00. Took him to the doctor's office, where the flu was ruled out. They did a chest x-ray and determined that he has pneumonia. He got a shot (not a happy camper with that!), the doctor gave us Albuterol and sent us home with a couple of prescriptions and instructions to keep him home.
The fever broke overnight. Mr. A had been sleeping as much as possible Wednesday--pretty much all day long. By 6:30 yesterday morning, he was up and awake. He asked to play on the Wii yesterday, so I obliged. :) (shhh, I'm a bad mommy!)
Today we had a follow up appointment. He's doing better--still out of school. Still on meds. The antibiotics will be finished on Monday so he's good there.

He has an awesome teacher who followed up with an email to me, asking about the little guy. She is fabulous! She caught the need for intervention early in the school year and has been very supportive of him during this year. I wrote her back and told her what was going on. He'll be back at school and just as ornery as ever on Monday. That means that he'll also go back to martial arts and WILL participate in class or I will know why!!!!

Cub Scouts

Tonight is our den meeting. The theme this month is American Indians, so we're going to have to do something along those lines for the craft in the den. We're hosting the den meeting as well, so this will be most interesting. I can't be there as I have a CIT class, but I'm sure I'll see the fruits of their labors when I get home.
I had an inspiration when I got to work and was talking to a co-worker who is a former Boy Scout dad. As I was talking to him, it hit me, almost like the proverbial lightning bolt about how the project is supposed to work! Tony's been thinking about it since the last meeting and didn't have it. *I* have it!
I'm going to Home Depot at lunch and am getting a chunk of PVC pipe. I'll get it cut to 2 1/4" by 5/8" pieces. I'll also buy some chamois cloth at Target and that'll give us our leather. We can do it!! YAY!! What a shame I'm not going to be at the meeting tonight, huh? LOL!!

I hope they have fun making the project. I've got to research snacks that are Native American inspired. That's my next step.

Seriously HAPPY Saturday

I am just overjoyed to announce that I went back to WW this morning after taking off the past month to focus on my belt test preparation. My last registered weight with them was 204, I think. Today, my weight was 199. Yes, JUST 199!! I broke the 200 lb barrier!!! I was so hyped up, I ran out of the bathroom this morning, jumped on the bed and woke Tony up. My home scales matched the WW scales, so I'm just glowing with pleasure!!

I spent today with my kids, except for when they went to karate. I stayed home so that I could have a little bit of quiet time. When they got home, they had lunch, then Amanda did her homework. I organized my files for my new job--I'm the secretary for our Cub Scout pack. I had to get a couple of file folders, so Aidan and I went to Staples and as long as we were there, we got his new kerchief, slide and hat for Cubs. He's a Wolf this year and do NOT mention Tiger to him or he'll tell you that "it's only for FIRST GRADERS! I am NOT a first grader!!!" LOL! I had taken him with me so that his sister could do her homework without him bugging her. He was great at helping me do my shopping. I rewarded him by taking him over to Petco to visit the critters. We had to see the iguanas, then the snakes (Hmmm. "Snakes. Why does it always have to be...snakes?!" Anyone remember that movie??) After the snakes, we visited the fish and turtles, then the birds, rodents and finally, the cats up for adoption. They were really neat. There was one really pretty white cat named "Puffy". He was determined to sleep instead of socializing but that's okay. it was a lot of fun. The little guy enjoyed it.
When we got home, it was his sister's turn. I took her out to get a hair cut and he took his dad out to go swimming. LOL!! They came in shortly after we got home. She's since gone over to a friend's house to sleep over, he's sitting on the couch and reading a magazine. Oh, and watching Tak and the Power of JuJu on Nickelodeon. The things they come up with for kids shows!!

ACK! Hubby's now turned on Sponge Bob Square Pants. Okay, just for that, I'm going to leave you with the corniest joke in creation...

Q: What happens when Sponge Bob sees a full moon?
A: He turns into a Squarewolf.

See ya!!
